Hi Readers! I'm Jonathan, but most calls me John. I want to share a few things about myself to you. As a resident in Michigan's 'Big House,' I came to believe just because someone made wrong decisions in life doesn't mean their future must be dictated by the past. So I owned up to my offenses, and secured a seat in the new prison college program with an essay submission on 'How rehabilitation can be achieved through education?' After successfully earning paralegal degrees from Jackson Community College and Blackstone School of Law, I continued to refine my mind by earning a Social Science degree with Calvin University through generous donations from Calvin alumnus. (very grateful to them) When I thought I had reached the prison academic summit, (as I told myself I would not be the same man I was when first entered this insidious environment) I was then selected for the Prison Legal Writer training sponsored by the eminent Law Firm of Peterson & Pellete. This practical training helped adapted my legal abilities to effectively assist those in maximum security. After successfully completed this law school like training, I wanted to share my knowledge which lead to the publication of my first book entitled, "So You Want to be a Michigan Prison Writer" to the prison audience. An easy, self-help read to educate prisoners for any state and federal judiciary or prison administrative challenge.
So as I put the final editing touches on my new legal thriller, ' Flip the Judicial Script,' I sit with my pup, Ozark, who I am training to be a leader dog for the Blind, I will continue to contribute to my prison community until the parole board believes I am worthy of a second chance.
