SHORT SHANKS

Escape is an instinct ingrained in every living thing. Plants escape their seeds. Birds escape their shells. Humans seek to escape life's discomforts.

Life's discomforts are those negative worldly concepts we fashion into mental constructs. Constructs which defines our beauty, our intelligence, our happiness, and our self-worth. These mental apparitions produce visceral bodily discomforts when we believe we are not living the ideal. And so we attempt to escape.

Attempts to escape life's discomforts are sought through a variety of knee jerk reactions. We whittle away time engaging in banal social banter. We meander minutes doing senseless task trying to stay busy. We indulge in hedonistic stimuli desperate to fill false feelings of emptiness. Yet, each attempt to escape one discomfort only entraps us in the cage if another.

For 28 years, I to sought escape. Not from the confines of my incarceration. But from my guilt, my shame, my accountability, my discomfort. Thankfully, I found keys that freed me from that cell of discomfort. Keys I will pass down the wire to you.

These keys are: humor, take nothing personal, its not about me  gratitude, generosity  meditation, exercise. These keys will unlock the cages of the mind, spirit, and body. They will free you from the discomforts caused by your constructs allowing you to walkout into the recyard of freedom.
