Prison Is No Picnic
Guards control your movement; prison policies limit and restrict agency; and inmate culture foster an environment of disharmony, disconnection, and distrust. Waking up day after day after day to such a monotonous, dull life cycle leaves you with only one option for relief: Laugh.
But prison's no laughing matter, you say? Make it one. When that guard blows you off, laugh. When your boss in the world pisses you off, laugh. Reacting with laughter first allows for a responsible response etend. We need to seek more humor in our lives.
Mumor derives from the unique ability to take real-world situations and make them funny. We are then able to circumvent our ingrained jaded perspectives by transforming our base form of seeing and being in the world.
This transformed seeing and being sparks a positive self-conscious awareness. A self-conscious awareness beneficial towards actual life changes, which is our self-interest, right? Because in terms of self-interest, we start to grasp our responsibility for how we have been in the world; and how we will be in the world.
Therefore, live life as a comedy and not like a tragedy. Make your discomforts the punch-line!
