Gratitude
While living in prison, its easy to feel there is nothing to be thankful for. We are removed from friends, family, and freedom. We are told when to sleep, eat, where to walk and when to speak. Its very easy to become jaded to the belief there is something to be grateful about.
GRATITUDE
This jaded perception is all in the mind. It only sees what's restricted. What's taken away. What's lost. It reflects a mind that seeks outward for satisfaction inward.
Gratitude requires shifting your perspective from your head to your chest. Its a "heart-set" not a mindset. When this shift is accomplished you will see all the things to be grateful for.
We are told when to sleep but we are given a bed. We are told when to eat but we are fed. We are told where to walk but we are allowed to move. We are told when to talk but we are heard. These are a few of many things that exist in prison we can be thankful for.
Like life in prison, living in the free world sometimes it can be difficult to see the many things to grateful for. You have high rent and low wages, expensive gas, and over priced groceries. Yet, when you shifting your perspective from your head to your chest, you will see all the things to be grateful for.
